Trusted Senior executive gives notice of departure to join a competitor or to start a new business. He has a personal relationship with many long time clients and has extensive knowledge of information proprietary to your business. You have no definitive information but you suspect that this employee may be setting up a competing business using your clients and data.

A recent case which illustrates this scenario: 3D examined the computer of an executive vice president getting ready to leave a Fortune 500 company and discovered that he had been sending attachments containing company price and bid history to himself through his personal Gmail account in order for his new company to gain a price bidding advantage.

Forensics:

  • Forensically image all computer/peripherals used by the executive
  • Recover registry evidence of USB attached devices commonly used to copy and move electronic data
  • Examine corporate and personal account email messages for evidence of data being transferred
  • Examine all data areas for evidence of installed malware (keyloggers)
  • Produce digital trail of executives’ activity on local system and network drives, concentrating on file accesses and deletions
  • Using keyword list examine email, active and deleted files and ambient space. Extract search hits and provide to client for relevance review
  • Produce comprehensive report of Internet activity by executive concentrating on access to on line storage sites such as Dropbox
  • Examine all cell phones, tablets and thumb drives used by executive
  • Produce final paper and CD based report containing all collected evidence and expert conclusions and opinions

EEOC

We help corporations and government agencies investigate the validity of EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) complaints with our DFAS (Digital Forensics Analysis Services). While some EEOC complaints against employers or even other employees are valid, we have found that about 60% of these complaints are either false, or one sided.  Many times, these complaints are followed with a lawsuit against the employer or government agency.  With our DFAS we are able to present the employer or government agency with a complete picture of the actual events that led to the complaint in the first place. By having the information that we can provide with DFAS, the employer or government agency can easily decide how to handle the complaint or lawsuit more efficiently.
